This program is designed for those with prior experience in sculpture.
To help us determine how we can best support your goals, please submit a portfolio with your application.
We will finalize the schedule once both parties have agreed on the program details.
About Practice and Stay
・Practice modules are not available on weekends and public holidays.
(When taking practice modules on consecutive days, some past participants have experienced fatigue.
Modules are not offered on weekends and public holidays, so please use that time to enjoy sightseeing or to refresh yourself in Kanazawa.)
・The instructor can communicate in simple English and can use translation apps when needed. We regularly welcome participants from overseas, and lessons have been conducted successfully using gestures and easy-to-understand English.
However, if you feel uncertain about communication, please refrain from applying or consider attending with an interpreter.
・There is a small child in the home. If you are sensitive to children’s voices or daily household sounds during your stay, we kindly ask that you refrain from applying.
・The entire building is strictly non-smoking. To avoid disturbing our neighbors,
smoking outdoors is also not permitted. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from smokers.
・The bathroom and toilet are shared with the host family.
・The washing and drying machine is also shared.
・Please note that the toilet may occasionally be used by visitors to the studio during the daytime.
Terms and Conditions for Artist-in-Residence Program
Application and Selection Process
Slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure a mutual fit, the following steps are required:

Application: Submit your portfolio and preferred dates.

Interview/Consultation: Mutual confirmation of program details via email or an online meeting.

Contract: A formal agreement will be signed upon mutual consent.

Initial Deposit: 50% of the total program fee must be paid within one week of signing the contract.

Confirmation: The reservation is officially secured upon confirmation of the deposit.

Final Balance: The remaining 50% must be paid no later than one month before the start date of the residency.
Cancellation Policy
As we decline other applicants once a slot is reserved, the following cancellation fees apply. Note: Any bank transfer or transaction fees incurred for refunds will be the responsibility of the applicant.

After confirmation (post-deposit): 50% of the total program fee (the initial deposit) will be charged.

Between 40 and 30 days prior to the start date: The remaining 50% of the total program fee will be charged.
Force Majeure (Natural Disasters, etc.)
In the event that the program cannot be conducted due to natural disasters, infectious diseases, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizer or the resident, the following actions will be taken:

Cancellation Decision: Either party may terminate the contract upon mutual consultation.

Refunds: Fees for the unfulfilled portion of the stay will be refunded. However, the organizer is not liable for costs already incurred (e.g., transaction fees) or compensation for the resident’s travel and transportation expenses.
Insurance and Liability

Personal Responsibility: The organizer assumes no responsibility for accidents, injuries, illnesses, or the damage/theft of artwork during the stay. We strongly recommend that residents obtain their own personal injury and liability insurance.

Damage to Facilities: Residents will be charged the actual cost of repair or replacement for any facilities or equipment damaged through intent or negligence.
